Support Needed for Mission Trip to Jordan
Request from Pastor Marc Schwichtenberg, Saint Paul Lutheran Church & School, Mount Prospect
A member of our congregation will be participating in a mission trip to Jordan this summer. His name is Paul Berauer. Paul will be working through Crescent Project. (www.crescentproject.org ) This is an organization founded for the purpose of helping Christians reach out to their Muslim neighbors around their own communities and around the world. As part of this, Paul will be traveling to the nation of Jordan from June 14 - June 29th, after a week of intensive training on evangelism to Muslims. This trip will focus on approaching Muslims where they are, from coffee shops to college campuses and restaurants. We ask that you pray for Paul and the other 9 members of his team; that they act as tools of God to reach out to Muslims and show them his love. Team members are responsible for raising the cost of the trip, which is approximately $4,000.00.
St Paul will be offering support but more is needed. Please consider financial as well as prayer support for Paul as he undertakes this important work.

Missionary Family Sets Sights on Kenya
Request from Trent Davis, Trinity Lutheran Church in Bloomington Illinois
Greetings!
Recently, our family received word of an invitation from Kids Alive to serve in Kenya as partners in their ministry.  This trip will take place in November 2007 and last for four weeks.  We have eagerly accepted this challenge and wanted to share in this experience with you. If you are unfamiliar with Kids Alive it is a Christian organization that rescues orphans from the streets of third world countries.  They house, feed, educate, and prepare them to be productive Christian members of society.  I would encourage you to check out their website at www.kidsalive.org

This opportunity to serve in Kenya comes after a six-month examination process by Kids Alive to determine if we are qualified to serve as long-term missionaries.  Kids Alive has asked us to join their organization on a long-term basis, but they first want us to "test the waters" as a family for an extended period.  This four-week stint in November is the "test."

The volunteer positions are "self-funded" which means that we must raise our own financial support.  Our total financial need for the November trip is $ 8,454, with the biggest portion coming from airfare.  This is a big number, but we believe our God is bigger than that hurdle.  Any support would be appreciated.  We would love the opportunity to partner with you in this endeavor.

These opportunities provide many opportunities to not only witness to students in the classroom, but also to witness to fellow teachers at school and friends you make outside of class. The long-term missionary in this position will also be involved in other activities at the school and dorms."
