It was like a modern day chapter from the book of Acts. When our team arrived in the village of Teetakallu, India, Gregg Moore, our pastor asked if any of the people waiting had ever heard of the Bible or Jesus Christ. None of them ever had, much to our astonishment!
The medical clinic started and we served 102 people that day of which 82 came to know the Lord, confessing their sins and asking Jesus into their hearts!
The
man pictured here was so excited about finding Jesus that he stood up saying
loudly to all who could hear: "I believe in the one true God. I renounce all
other gods. Jesus is the only god. All other gods in this country are wrong. I
accepted Jesus in my heart and I know I'm going to heaven!" It is so very
exciting to see this work of God! The children in the village learned John 3:16
in their language, Telugu, and 2 even learned it in English even though they
don't speak English!
The predominant religion of India is Hinduism which has some 3,000 recognized gods.
Theo,
the local evangelist, will be starting a new church in this village which he has
named PARI VAR THA NA meaning TRANSFORMATIONAL HOPE.
This picture is of us making a house call to an elderly woman who had broken her leg.
THESE TRIPS MAKE VACATIONS PALE IN COMPARISON!
Please consider joining me on a future mission. Also donations are much needed and appreciated to continue this evangelistic outreach through medical care.

Tomasovic (photo upper right), Medical Missions Assistant for LCC, are
joining the medical mission trip to Mexico sponsored by Pastor Gerald
Schalk of St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Barrington Illinois. They will
be leaving October 13th and will return on October 20th. The group will be
staying at the dormitory at Ysleta Lutheran Mission in El Paso, Texas and will
cross
the border each day to work in one of four clinics in Mexico. There are 32
people going on the mission team this year, the largest team to go, which will
allow them to fully operate all four clinics. Please pray for God to open
opportunities for the team to minister and proclaim the love and compassion of
Christ.

Updates from Susan Busse in Ghana
God is amazing as he transforms a small busload of people and an empty classroom into a medical clinic, complete with a pharmacy, health food store, and evangelism station. Ghanaians will walk for hours and wait the same for an opportunity to have their medical concerns addressed, perhaps for the first time in years. We are seeing a lot of malaria, numerous strokes and respiratory illnesses. Elaphantitis is not an uncommon sight, a condition caused by a tiny parasite and untreatable when seen at this stage.
January 23, 2007
Dear friends,
I'm safe and sound in Ghana, although sweating a little more than I like. We
have a great team and have been able to serve patients both in Sanko at the
hospital and Senya at a school. Please continue to pray for us as there is much
spiritual warfare going on over the evangelizing. Pray for humbleness for our
leaders, wisdom and God's grace for us all. Pray that God empty each of us of
ourselves and fill us with His Spirit, so that the light of Jesus shines thru
us.
More later...In Christ, -
Susan

We are a team of 16 from the United States and Canada from a multitude of
different denominations. Especially delightful are the children who, because of
the remoteness of the village we are in, have open hearts, constant curiosity
and brilliant smiles. The Ghanaian people, though poor, are rich in ways that
many Americans are not: they are happy, content and grateful. What a joy to be
able to serve their physical needs as well as minister to their spiritual needs!

LCC Staff Member Susan
Busse, MD left on a medical mission trip to Ghana, Africa with
Fishers of Men Medical Ministries on January 19 and continuing
through February 15. They will be providing medical services, as
well as evangelizing in a mostly Muslim region of Ghana. The missionaries will also travel to Kenya where Susan will visit Mully's Children - five orphanages for homeless, abandoned and neglected children.
