A Life Changing Journey Cover to Cover Through The Bible
Although each book of the Bible conveys an important message, it is essential for someone to make a spiritual pilgramage through God's entire Biblical library and examine that library in the spirit of a "Biblical bloodhound." Only when we examine the sweep of the Biblical narrative in the manner of a spiritual Shelock Holmes do we begin to understand the radical nature of Jesus the Messiah's ministry - for then and now.
In short, those who wish God's Living Word to work in their hearts and lives must work God's written Word - unceasingly!
In his well-known book, "The Kingdom of God," Prof. John Bright writes:
"There has grown up in the Church, alongside a total neglect of the Bible, a dangerous partial use of it. As a Church, we declare that the Bible is the Word of God, and we draw no distinction between its parts. But in practice we confine our use of it almost entirely to selected sections - the Gospels and the Psalms, portions of Paul and the Prophets - and ignore the rest as if it had never been written. The result is that we not only neglect most that is valuable but, what is worse, miss the deepest meaning of the very parts we use because we lift them from their larger context."

Our textbook for the course is The Bible. We use the Bible - an ancient text, a living text - and we try to enter it, not only to decipher it, but to penetrate it, to become part of it, similar to the way every student becomes part of a teacher's texture. We approach the Bible with fervor and passion as each page is unique. We see history in it. We see revealed truth in it. We see in it human folly as much as Divine Inspiration. Wherever you open it, any page, you know that you are in the presence of something that exists nowhere else.
Classes will begin the Mid-September 2006 with additional new classes starting throughout the year. All classes at a given location will cover the same lesson materials. This gives you the flexibility each week to go to the class that best fits your schedule. Classes will also be available over the internet. You can watch online at any time through our archives (full video or audio-only stream).
Everyone, regardless of church (or lack of) affiliation.
